This role is focused on delivering high-voltage testing, commissioning, and maintenance across critical industrial and infrastructure sites — from manufacturing plants to substations and energy facilities. You'll work hands-on with advanced HV systems, protection relays, rotating machinery, and control equipment, helping keep New Zealand’s industrial power infrastructure running safely and efficiently. • Testing and maintaining HV equipment including transformers, protection relays, instrument transformers, and HV cables up to 33kV • Commissioning and servicing of power system communication and control equipment • Performing insulating oil analysis and electrical breakdown testing • Leading or supporting system commissioning activities • Jointing and terminating specialist communications cables • Applying and removing safety measures in an electricity supply environment • Participating in response work and scheduled maintenance • Following Omexom and client safety procedures, and contributing to a strong safety-first culture Qualifications and Skills • A tertiary qualification in electrical engineering or power systems (polytechnic diploma or equivalent) • Experience working in substations, switchyards, or industrial HV environments • Sound technical knowledge of electrical protection systems • Proficiency using HV test equipment and interpreting test results • A proactive approach to safety, risk management, and continuous improvement • Ability to travel for regional project work Who are we?
