Day to day this role will: * Install, replace, and repair underground electrical distribution, transmission and generation systems. * Joint and terminate XLPE and PILC cables up to 33kV and assemble electrical panels, junction boxes, ring main units, and transformers. * Perform cable testing, including recording all results to ensure the condition of cables before and after work. * Ensure safety by using proper isolation and earthing procedures before starting work and removing them once work is completed. * Complete all required paperwork, including detailed as-builts and regulatory requirements. * Maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring customer satisfaction and team collaboration. This role sits within our **Roslyn, Palmerston North** team who operates service and construction contracts at various sites across the country. You'll bring: * EWRB Cable Jointer registration/licence required * National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Cable Jointer - High Voltage) Level 4 * Experience jointing XLPE and PILC up to 33kV * A clean class 1 driver's license, class 2/4 preferable * Sound knowledge of the Safety Manual Electricity Industry (SMEI) and Safe Practices for Low Voltage Electrical Work This role is ideal for someone willing to work away from home and travel around New Zealand for major renewable projects.
