Opportunity to grow your career in electricity distribution design Location: Warkworth Salary: $88,000 $92,000 About the Role As a Design Technician, you'll support Design Engineers by producing high quality designs, CAD drawings, and cost estimates for electricity network works and customer initiated projects. Your work will help deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions across the region. You'll be involved in a broad range of technical tasks including LV and HV design support, estimating, project documentation, and customer coordination. This role reports to the Delivery Manager Warkworth Electricity Distribution and has no direct reports. Key Responsibilities Design & Estimation * Prepare LV designs and cost estimates for subdivisions, commercial developments, and customer works * Support HV network and substation projects, including overhead/underground lines, reinforcements, conversions (OHUG), relocations, and new connections * Produce and maintain CAD construction and as-built drawings * Interpret engineering drawings and specifications * Apply Northpower standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements * Assist with technical data gathering, tenders, contracts, work packs, schedules, and project documentation * Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams * Support project handovers and internal reviews Performance & Delivery * Meet operational, regulatory, safety, and customer requirements * Deliver work to agreed timelines and quality standards * Apply sound problem solving skills People & Relationships * Build strong working relationships across teams and with customers * Communicate clearly and professionally Continuous Improvement * Support audits and identify improvement opportunities * Seek ongoing development and upskilling HSQE & Assets * Maintain full HSQE compliance * Care for equipment, PPE, and company assets * Promote safety, environmental responsibility, and prompt incident reporting About You: You're proactive, detail focused, and passionate about safe and effective design.
