You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of homes where disabled individuals—particularly children and young people—receive care and support. This includes managing staff, ensuring safe and nurturing environments, and fostering a culture of respect, empowerment, and inclusion. Your work will involve close collaboration with families and whānau to understand the unique needs, aspirations, and challenges of each child. You'll coordinate personalised support plans that promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and social engagement. This may include facilitating access to education, therapies, recreational activities, and community participation. You'll also monitor health, behavioural, and developmental outcomes, working alongside health professionals, educators, and other specialists to ensure services are responsive, high-quality, and tailored to each individual. This role requires a compassionate and proactive approach, with a strong commitment to safeguarding, advocacy, and continuous improvement. You'll be a key figure in helping children with disabilities thrive—not just in their homes, but in their wider communities.
