Since 1998, we have provided peer-led support, advocacy, training, and consultancy, guided by hope, personal power, and connection. We support people facing mental health and addiction challenges to take charge of their recovery and wellbeing. Our work includes de-stigmatising mental distress, reducing marginalisation, fostering social inclusion, and delivering mental health education in workplaces, schools, and organisations, supporting people move forward and reach their full potential. **Ngā Ratonga | Our services:** The Piki Peer Support service works with rangatahi/young adults (18-25y/o) across the Wellington, Kapiti, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa Regions. Piki offers free access to trained Peer Support Workers with personalised access to Peer Support at a convenient place and time. We strive to enhance Rangatahi's quality of life by equipping them with the tools to overcome adversity and strengthen their wellbeing. **He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role** As a Peer Support Worker, you will connect with rangatahi/young adults (18-25y/o) and their whanau within the Wellington Region area. You will utilise your personal lived experience of mental distress and/or addiction and recovery to inspire Rangatahi in their journey to wellbeing. We currently have 2 roles available: - **Permanent part-time 30 hours per week** worked flexibly, though generally between the hours of 7.00am – 7.00pm. - **Fixed Term Part Time (expiring 30 June 2026): 25 hours per week**, worked flexibly, though generally between the hours of 7am – 7pm *There may be times, depending on the needs of the peer you are supporting, where work outside of these hours is required.* **He kōrero mōu | About You** You'll bring your own knowledge and experience of drug and alcohol addiction or mental health wellbeing to the role, **and we ask that you tell us about your journey to recovery in your cover letter.** **You'll also have:** - A Level 4 Health & Wellbeing Certificate (or equivilent) - Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this). - Have experience working effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, especially Māori and Pasifika communities and their whānau - Group facilitation skills (or interest to learn) - A positive attitude, good sense of humour, and full NZ driver's licence with access to your own vehicle. **Ko Tā Mātou Mahi | We Offer** Join us to experience a work environment where values are not just words on a page.
