Since 1998, we have provided peer-led support, advocacy, training, and consultancy, guided by hope, personal power, and connection. We support people facing mental health and addiction challenges to take charge of their recovery and wellbeing. Our work includes de-stigmatising mental distress, reducing marginalisation, fostering social inclusion, and delivering mental health education in workplaces, schools, and organisations, helping people move forward and reach their full potential. **He Kōrero Mō Te Tūranga | The Role** Join our Ellerslie-based team as a Peer Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults and older adults in the central Auckland area. In this role, you'll draw on your lived experience of mental distress and recovery to support others, walking alongside them to build confidence and achieve their goals. You'll work closely with tāngata whaiora, their whānau, and health professionals, offering compassionate, experienced support for individuals as they navigate their journey. We’re looking for someone with strong Peer Support and communication skills, a passion for supporting others, and the ability to work effectively within a vibrant, diverse, community-based mobile team. Strong administration and data-entry skills, self-motivation, and solid organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to work with a wide range of cultures and age groups. A full driver’s licence and access to your own personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursed) are required. ***The role is fixed term Monday - Friday (ending 18 December 2026) part-time 32 hours per week.*** **He Kōrero Mōu | About You** We are seeking someone who is passionate about supporting others and are committed to making a positive impact. The ideal candidate will also: - Have personal lived experience of mental distress and/or addiction issues and recovery and can use this to support and inspire others - Have a Level 4 National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work (or equivalent) - Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this). - Can share their lived experience in a way that fosters hope and encourages personal growth. - Can build strong, trusting relationships with peers, whānau, and health professionals - Have experience working with diverse groups of people - Can communicates effectively—verbally and in writing—and can adapt their communication style to different audiences - Has a proficient level of computer literacy - Hold a full, clean New Zealand driver's licence and access to your own vehicle. **Ko Tā Mātou Mahi | We Offer** At Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa - Peer Services, we are committed to your professional development and well-being.
