




Summary: Seeking an engaging Art Therapist to provide individual and group therapy for young people with mild to moderate mental health and/or addiction issues, working within a supportive collaborative team. Opportunity for professional development and cultural training We are looking for an engaging Art Therapist to deliver one on one and group work for people with mild to moderate mental health/and or addiction issues in person and online. You will be working within the Manu Ka Rere collaborative with a supportive team around you. In this role, you will be: * Assessing young people 13-24 (and their families as applicable) who are experiencing a mild to moderate mental health concern to determine brief community-based art therapy intervention or on-referral to treatment services. * Supporting youth online and in person. * Facilitating groups. * Navigating a path to wellbeing for young people and their family. * Updating notes and ensuring plans are in place. To be successful in this role, you will have * Formal qualifications in Art Therapy, as well as Registration with an Allied Health Body (or working towards). * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Good group facilitation skills. * Experience in building rapport with young people. * Clean and full driver’s license. * Excellent computer skills. Experience of client / patient databases. * Cultural awareness. There is also the scope to include group work within the Justice environment, so ideally you will have Alcohol and Other Drug skills and experience in this sector. It is vital that you can relate well to young people and want to support and be supported by a multidisciplinary team. This position is 32 hours per week.
