The Conservatory is looking for a talented and driven **Sous Chef** to join our team at Auckland’s vibrant waterfront. This is an exciting opportunity to assist the Head Chef in running a high-performing kitchen where quality, consistency, and a great team culture are at the forefront of everything we do.
**What you'll do**
- Assist the Head Chef in daily operations and lead the kitchen in their absence.
- Produce high-quality plates that exceed customer expectations in both design and taste.
- Mentor and train junior kitchen staff on dish specifications and food margins.
- Manage stock ordering, food safety compliance, and kitchen hygiene to the highest standards.
- Collaborate with the FOH team to ensure a seamless guest experience.
**About you**
- You hold a Level 4 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery) or equivalent.
- You have proven leadership skills and the ability to keep a kitchen running smoothly under pressure.
- Great interpersonal skills, Able to work as part of a team.
- Excellent personal hygiene
- Enjoy practical work, great hand-eye coordination
- You are proactive, honest, and reliable with a sharp eye for detail.
- You have excellent communication skills and a positive attitude that motivates the team.
