Balance of road travel and team-based production goals MOBILE SLAUGHTERER * Timaru based, permanent full-time hours * Bring your drive and motivation to this tight knit team * Full training provided New Zealand Petfoods has been operating its successful business since 1987, with its Timaru factory and abattoir sites, and retail shops in Timaru, Oamaru, and Dunedin. They also sell their products nationwide through supermarkets and other retailers. With such a busy business operation, they need a reliable and hardworking Mobile Slaughterer to join their team in a role involving both on-farm slaughtering and processing work within the abattoir. To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable working in a hands-on environment, safely operating a firearm, knife handling, and completing a range of meat processing activities. What you’ll be doing: * Travelling to local farms to carry out mobile slaughtering services * Liaising with customers and completing required documentation * Transporting animals and completing processing in the abattoir * Following strict health, safety, and animal welfare standards * Working as part of a team to ensure efficiency and quality of operations What we’re looking for: * Physically fit and capable of demanding work * Flexible and willing to adapt to different work environments * Great communication and customer service skills * Full, clean driver’s licence (Class 2 a bonus) * Firearms licence, or eligibility to obtain one * Practical, reliable, and able to work independently as well as in a team * Pass drug screening With variety in your day, and scope to progress into leadership roles in the future, this is someone’s dream job!
