Refurbishment & Maintenance Support – Christchurch Villages (Qestral) Qestral is looking for a fulltime, dual role Refurbishment & Maintenance Support superstar to join our team! Are you practical, organised, and passionate about creating high-quality living environments? We’re looking for someone to support our Refurbishment Coordinator and Care Centre teams across our Christchurch Villages. This role is all about helping us maintain beautiful, safe, and welcoming spaces for our residents. About the role – Mō te Tūranga You’ll be involved in coordinating and refurbishing homes and apartments, assisting with inspections and handovers, and supporting general maintenance across our Care Centres. You’ll also work closely with contractors, the Refurbishment Coordinator, Village Project Coordinators, Development Systems and Improvement Manager, Village Managers, Facility Managers and Maintenance Heads of Department to ensure everything runs smoothly and to a high standard. This is a full-time, dual role offering variety, purpose, and the chance to make a real difference every day. Your time will initially be shared between Burlington and Alpine Villages (2-3 days per week), where you’ll support the Refurbishment Coordinator, and Banbury Park Care Centre (or other Care Centres as required) (2-3 days per week), where you’ll take on the responsibility for general maintenance tasks. The days spent at each facility are required to be flexible to meet service and delivery needs. About you – Ngā Kōrero Mōu You’re someone who: * Has a proactive approach and enjoys solving problems on the go. * Is physically fit and comfortable with hands-on tasks like lifting, moving furniture, and outdoor work. * Has a background in construction, building or general maintenance, with practical experience in hands-on environments. * Can confidently manage contractors and ensure work is completed to a high standard. * Is flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to jump in wherever needed. * Has the ability to meet high standards within tight timeframes, staying focused and efficient under pressure. * Has a strong sense of responsibility and takes ownership of tasks. * Is committed to maintaining a safe and tidy work environment. * Has a positive attitude and contributes to a supportive team culture. * Values the importance of resident wellbeing and takes pride in creating welcoming spaces. * Applicants for this position must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
