We're looking for an experienced builder who wants to do what they do best - great building work. We do renovations, so experience renovating and problem solving would be a big advantage. Key Responsibilities * Carry out building work in accordance with the NZ Building Code, approved plans, and council requirements. * Manage projects and direct subbies on-site. * Ensure all work meets relevant compliance and quality standards. * Liaise with subcontractors, site managers, and other trades to coordinate workflow. * Interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately. * Conduct on-site problem-solving and assist in design or construction adjustments. * Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. * Ensure accurate completion of documentation including Records of Work (ROW) and site checklists. * Attend inspections as required and liaise with Council building inspectors. * Mentor and train other team members to maintain quality standards. Skills & Experience * NZ Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) – Carpentry * Minimum 7 years’ practical experience in residential construction * Strong knowledge of NZ Building Code and acceptable solutions * Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Able to work unsupervised or as part of a team * Familiarity with site safety procedures and health & safety legislation (HSWA) Personal Attributes * High attention to detail and commitment to quality * Honest, reliable, and proactive * Takes pride in workmanship * Positive attitude and team-oriented * Good problem solver with a can-do approach Physical Requirements * Capable of manual handling and physically demanding tasks * Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
