Job Description We're gearing up for our busy season and are putting together motivated teams to start at our Malvern processing facility, near Christchurch, to help get NZ Beef and Lamb from our backyard to customers plates. If you want to feel appreciated for a job well done and be part of something bigger, then consider joining SPM is an "earn while you learn " type of company.  Hours of work vary from 30 – 60 hours per week with paid rates ranging from $25 to $42 per hour dependent on assigned task, skill and experience, plus any applicable allowances and overtime. Qualifications * NZQCF Level 4 qualification in meat processing OR * At least three years of relevant experience as a Meat Boner, Experienced Knife Hand, or Bandsaw Operator (experience may substitute for the formal qualification) * Demonstrated experience of advanced knife work in a meat processing environment * Strong attention to detail and ability to work to specifications * Ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-paced production environment As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of duties, including: * Removing viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses. * Hygienically dressing carcasses in preparation for primal cuts or further processing and packaging. * Operating slaughter-floor equipment, such as cutters and flays. * Trimming and removing head meat and severing animal heads. * Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the employer.
