We are seeking a skilled and experience wood Joiner. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, fitting, and repairing wooden structures and fittings, both on-site and in workshops. You must have a keen eye for detail, solid craftsmanship, and the ability to work from technical drawings and plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Read and interpret architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
* Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials.
* Manufacture and install joinery components such as cabinetry, doors, windows, stairs, and mouldings.
* Repair or refurbish wooden structures and fittings as required.
* Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and accurately.
* Work on-site or in the workshop as projects demand.
* Ensure all work complies with NZ health and safety standards and the NZ Building Code.
* Collaborate with builders, project managers, and other trades.
Required:
* Proven experience as a Joiner or Cabinetmaker in New Zealand.
* Solid understanding of NZS 3604 (Timber-framed buildings) and relevant building regulations.
* Competency with woodworking tools, machines, and finishing techniques.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality workmanship.
* Experience in residential or commercial joinery installation.
Pay: $27 - $32
Hours: minimum of 30 hours per week
