Workshop Diesel Technician - Northland
Our client is New Zealand's leading independent importer and distributor of tractors and agricultural equipment. With deep roots in New Zealand, our client is a family-founded company with a rich heritage spanning over three generations in the tractor and machinery market.
We are looking for a Technician with relevant industry experience and qualifications to join their team due to growth within their company at their Whangarei workshop. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of tractors and agricultural machinery.
We can offer you:
* $40-$42 per hour - Negotiable on qualifications and experience including paid overtime at time and a half and a weekly tool allowance.
* This role offers permanent full-time employment working 42.5 hours per week within our core business days and hours of Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5pm

Responsibilities:
* Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of agricultural machinery including tractors, balers, sprayers, and loaders
* Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance both on-site and in the workshop
* Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment
* Rebuild and overhaul engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems to manufacturer specifications
* Accurately document service work using digital reporting tools and follow detailed service procedures
* Collaborate with workshop and field teams to ensure minimal equipment downtime and optimal performance
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to strict health, safety, and environmental standards
About you:
You'll take real pride in your work and machinery itself. You'll be self-motivated, have excellent problem-solving skills and have a strong work ethic. You will need:
* MUST be a qualified automotive heavy engineering or diesel mechanic
* MUST be eligible to work in NZ
* A background in agricultural tractors and machinery would be an advantage
* Excellence in diagnostics and have a sound understanding of electronics and hydraulics
* A full Driver's license
* Good communication skills to liaise with people at all levels
* A good level of physical fitness as there is some heavy lifting involved
