We are now looking for a motivated and experienced Machine Plant Operator/ Labourer to join our skilled and dedicated team. About the Role – Operator / Labourer We are looking for a capable and hardworking Operator / Labourer to join our skilled Rural works crew. This is a hands-on, varied role where you will be working on Rural construction and infrastructure projects throughout the region. You will be expected to operate machinery and plant, perform a wide range of manual labouring tasks, and follow strict health, safety, and environmental practices. Your work will include everything from land drainage, trenching and pipe-laying to Irrigation Installation. This role is suited to someone who is physically fit, safety-conscious, mechanically minded, and keen to work outdoors on rewarding projects. This is a dual-role position combining hands-on machine operation with physical labouring duties. You will be working across a wide range of civil construction projects including: • Pipe and cable laying. • Drainage and duct installation. • Rural roading, tracks, and driveways. • Water and effluent infrastructure. Your work will involve operating small to medium civil plant and machinery, general site labour, and assisting with the transport of materials and equipment. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities • Operate civil plant (e.g. Excavator, loaders, Tractors, compactors trenching tools — depending on training and competency) • Conduct physical labouring tasks including trenching, back filling, and site preparation. • Assist with the laying of pipes, ducts, and cables to specification. • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively. • Conduct daily pre-start checks on equipment and machinery. • Follow site safety procedures and participate in toolbox meetings. • Help maintain clean, organised, and safe work areas. • Secure materials and machinery for transport as required. • Complete timesheets and work records accurately ________________________________________ What You will Need Essential: • Solid work ethic and a positive attitude. • Experience in civil construction or operating construction plant. • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors. • Willingness to perform manual labour tasks alongside machine operation. • Full Class 1 Driver’s Licence. • Health and Safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices.
