It has a brand new Mercury Magnetics 230-240v power transformer (swapping the power transformer does NOT change the character of the amp, but the original power transformer will be included in the sale). \r\n\r\nI've owned a couple of different amps to try over the last year or so and as with the others, I'm just not gelling with the 5150 so it's up for sale so I can place a cheeky order for something special. \r\n\r\nIt currently has Sovtek 6L6's in the power section and 12AX7's in the preamp section. Jaret, who has worked on a few of my amps and always does superb work, told me the tubes had life left in them but a retube would be sensible a little bit later down the line. Jaret modded it so that the bias can be adjusted. Eddie liked his amps biased cold so these amps have a pretty cold standard bias. Also, Jaret serviced the chassis by cleaning it as well as replacing some of the nuts and washers with nice shiny new ones. Along with the aforementioned mods, the power cord was swapped for an AUS/NZ compliant one. \r\n\r\nFor a 30+ year old amp, it is in very good condition. It is fully operational. All of the lettering is intact. \r\n\r\nIncludes footswitch. \r\n\r\nI really don't want to ship this thing at the moment so for now it's pickup from Wellington Central only. \r\n\r\nThese amps are incredibly loud, so I also have a Two Notes Captor X 8 ohm that I can include for a fee. I'll be sad to part with it but it'll be much better off being played by someone instead of sitting in the bags unused.\r\n\r\nHas been configured as a four-piece as shown in the photos for almost the entire time I've owned it, this auction includes the middle tom too so it could be re-configured as a five-piece.\r\n\r\n\r\nDrums:\r\n- 14\" snare\r\n- 10\"/12\"/14\" toms\r\n- 24\" kick\r\n\r\nThe drums have a 'sunburst' fade finish that has weathered over time into the golden colour shown in the photos, compare with the photo of the mostly-unused 12\" tom which has been in its bag most of the time and still has the original silver fade colour.\r\n\r\n\r\nHardware as shown in the photos, including:\r\n- drum throne\r\n- Tama Iron Cobra double-kick pedal\r\n- Pearl hi-hat stand\r\n- various cymbal stands and mounting arms\r\n- memory locks\r\n\r\nThere is some rust on the hardware and metal parts of the drums, see photos for examples of this.\r\n\r\n\r\nBags:\r\n- five BeatBag soft covers, one for each drum\r\n- a Tuxedo hardware bag which just fits all the hardware\r\n\r\nThese bags are all fairly worn but still do their job.
