As a Trainee Cable Jointer with Omexom, you’ll be supported through a comprehensive training programme while gaining real-world experience on the job. You’ll become part of a skilled, safety-first team working on vital electrical infrastructure. The successful candidates will work on key responsibilities like: Identifying and working safely around electrical systems and network structures. Installing, jointing, terminating, and maintaining LV & HV cables (Polymeric & PILC) up to 33kV. Operating specialist tools and equipment in a live network environment. Assessing cable conditions and applying or removing earthing on underground cables. Reading and interpreting technical plans and work procedures. Performing testing and cable identification. Participating in joint pit rescue training and confined space work. Understanding and applying basic traffic management practices. Liaising with Network Operations and following access permit protocols Qualifications and Skills NCEA Level 2 or equivalent (including Maths and English). Full NZ Driver Licence (Class 1) – Class 2 an advantage. Ability and willingness to pass pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol testing. Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. Who are we?
