You will get to work with a wide variety and range of people from different backgrounds and with varying support needs. As a Permanent Reliever you will be expected to work across multiple homes and all types of shifts, depending on the staffing needs of the houses.\r\n\r\n\r\nPeople with an intellectual disability want the same things as you and I. They just want someone to show them the way, not do it for them but to teach them. Support Workers are not carers. If you are observant, have real listening skills and appreciate diversity then you are off to a good start. We want people that can think on their feet, have energy to get out and about. People that are willing to get in a pool, not watch from the sides.
