Groundfix is a national award-winning specialist civil and geotechnical contracting firm who are renowned for high quality work and technical expertise. We are currently looking to hire several Site Foremen or Working Supervisors who have experience in geotechnical and civil construction, specifically foundations and slope stabilisation. The roles are primarily Auckland-based, but the successful applicants will be required to travel around New Zealand as per projects requirements and we would be open to discussing FIFO options for people not based in Auckland who have the right experience. About the role An on site and hands on role, you will balance between assisting the team with the physical works and keeping things rolling on site. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will arrange, direct, and monitor on-site construction activities to ensure works meet the projects commercial, quality, and environmental objectives. Planning and programming of project works, organising materials, plant, and subcontractors to meet project requirements. Provide training and mentorship to junior site staff and guide their development. Maintain high Health & Safety standards and ensure others on site adhere to good Health & Safety practices. Managing and completing daily site diaries, Quality and Health & Safety paperwork. About you A natural leader, you will lead by example, getting stuck in with the team and guiding / training junior staff as you work Experience in the anchoring and drilling in civil construction industry Full, clean NZ Class 1 driver license Have New Zealand Residency or a valid work visa Be physically fit. Demonstrate a good track record in technical delivery and paperwork Ability to complete basic mark out of installation locations from drawings and are familiar with the use of laser levels and basic survey tools Good attitude toward Health and Safety Good communication skills Ability to build and maintain working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds Strong eye for detail, good use of initiative and strong problem-solving skills Practical and organized with a ‘can do’ attitude and willing to learn new skills Honest, reliable and a team player Clear communication skills and the ability to liaise with client representatives in a professional and courteous manner Preferable skills and experience: Experience using / operating anchoring and drilling equipment (A-frame / wagon drill & high reach drilling equipment) Experience operating excavator mounted / tracked drill rigs for ground anchoring / soil nailing Experience in a variety of drilling techniques, such as the use of casing systems (J-lock or Robit systems etc.) and self-drilling anchors Experience in steel fixing or shotcrete application EWP, WTR or Forklift trade certificates would be advantageous but not essential First aid and site safe/construct safe qualifications preferred but not essential Permanent contract benefits: Competitive salary Guaranteed hours Yearly medicals Development and training options available Become an integral part of a proud and passionate team that strives for excellence Career progression opportunities Travel, accommodation and daily living away allowance when required to travel for a project Applicants must be prepared to undergo and pass a pre-employment police check and medical assessment including a drug and alcohol test. The roles are based in Auckland, but you will be required to travel around New Zealand as per projects requirements. The company will cover the travel and accommodation expenses for work outside of Auckland. About the role: An on site and hands on role, you will balance between assisting the team with the physical works and keeping things rolling on site. This small team is re-active across a 24 hour schedule working off a schedule between the two shifts. As a immediate first responder towards our network. This crew will ensure the situation is safe for the public whilst we create a plan ahead for longer programmes of work. Your efforts will play a key role in keeping our roads, footpaths, and public spaces safe and well-maintained for the community.
