2003 MINI Cooper

British racing green, white roof, 5 speed manual. NZ new, 2 owners currently 180,372 kms. This mini has an interesting history as reputed to be the first mini imported by BMW late 2003 after they took ownership. We purchased it ex-demo May 2004 owned it until November 2007 (clocked up 42,007 kms). Sold it to a mini made couple who had admired it for 3 years. They had access to a professional LMVD garage, any repairs & or replacement parts have always genuine mini parts. They owned it for 14 years and sold back to us December 2021 (at 173,829 kms) we had intended it to be a keeper classic. We have added 6,500 kms in 3.5 years. The car has been garaged all its life, serviced regularly and now we are reluctant vendors for medical reasons. Service & maintenance records are available. Summary of recent repairs or replacements AA Battery May 24; Bridgestone tires x4 205/45R17 @170,142 kms. Our advice from a Professional European Specialist Garage advises that the bearings in the diff need replacing. If you had access to your own garage and didn’t charge for own labour, that would be the most economical, as we have been told that bearing parts are $300-$500. We would without hesitation proceed with the repair as the rest of the car is in excellent condition. But now the car is too low for comfortable access with a back injury.
