Work alongside supervisors, drivers, and customers Join Meila – A New Ready-Mix Concrete Business in Queenstown Meila is a small, locally owned ready-mix concrete business based right here in Queenstown. We supply concrete for residential, commercial, and infrastructure work around the Queenstown Lakes District. We’re getting a new 80m³/h readymix concrete plant up and running in April 2026. It’s a chance to join us early and help with the day-to-day operations. The Opportunity We’re looking for a reliable Concrete Batch Plant Operator & Quality Technician to handle the plant work and quality checks. You’ll be hands-on with batching, testing, and dispatch in a small team. What You’ll Be Doing * Operate the 80m³/h batch plant – mixing, loading trucks, and managing daily production * Carry out quality control testing (slump, air content, cylinders) to NZS 3104 standards * Keep batch records, inventory, and the plant area tidy * Help with basic maintenance and sorting out any issues * Work alongside the supervisor, drivers, and customers to keep things on track What We Offer * $50 per hour * $40+ hours a week * Company vehicle * Part of a small local business * Work in Queenstown with the lakes and mountains nearby * New plant that’s straightforward to run What We’re Looking For * Experience as a batch plant operator or in concrete quality testing (a couple of years helps) * Knowledge of concrete mix designs, testing, and batching systems * Attention to detail, a safety-first approach, and comfort working outdoors * Full Class 2 or 4 licence (WTR endorsement is handy) * Right to work in New Zealand * Friendly attitude and willingness to learn how we do things This is a permanent full-time role based in Queenstown.
