Do you have a passion for bread and the bread making process? Can you shape a baguette and mix artisan dough. Have you had experience in a commercial artisan bakery? We make the best bread in the south and we are looking for passionate bakers for our busy wholesale bakery. Our bakery is located in Frankton Industrial Area, Queenstown. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to make artisan breads in a medium scale wholesale bakery using traditional, manual methods and have experience in this. Job Title: Baker Location: European Bakery Limited, Queenstown, New Zealand Qualification: Qualified Baker Level 4 NZQA qualification in bakery - or equivalan on-the-job experience of at least 3 years Hourly Rate: $30 - $35.00 NZD per hour Working Hours: Min 35 hours guaranteed starting between 7am – 9.30, rostered 5 days on 2 days off Duties include but are not limited to: • Dough mixing skills that includes mixing all doughs from scratch and using a natural sourdough starter. • Oven skills - able to use a deck and rotational oven, this includes shaping bread as it goes into the deck oven. • Managing work flow from the retarder to the oven and flow on effect for the packers. • Dough shaping skills – you need to be able to skilfully demonstrate your dough shaping ability and efficiency in accordance with our traditional methods • Experience in managing flow of dough production to ensure optimum efficiency •Manage and maintain bakery equipment •Cleaning of bakery equipment and work areas •Have the ability to trouble shoot and make adjustments as necessary. Having the right attitude and being a good team fit is importance to us so we are looking for the following attibutes: • Demonstrate your interest bread and passion for the product including a real interest in being involved in an established yet ever evolving artisan bread producer. • Flexibility to adapt to hours and work weekends and public holidays- 7 day operation. • Enjoy being part of a diverse team • Be physically fit - frequent heavy lifting and time working on your feet.
