*Mechanic Our business is growing, we are starting to build new vehicle types, and now need a new fulltime mechanic to come in and take over the day to day fleet maintenance in our workshop. We are a small, and dynamic team that operates in a fast paced environment through the summer months. We use quality parts and operate a preventative maintenance structure to ensure minimal issues on the road for our customers. Core tasks will be regular servicing, various other repairs, and maintenance as well as scheduled preventative maintenance work. Transmission servicing/repairs, and engine swaps. Tyre fitting will also be required. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years mechanical experience and be happy to help where needed throughout the different seasons. Our current fleet of multi award-winning campers are very specialized being all second and third generation Toyota Estima vehicles. In 2026 we will be adding two new vehicle classes as we continue to diversify and grow the business. A successful applicant will have an excellent work ethic and be focused on quality workmanship with a preventative maintenance mindset. An excellent attitude is required, as well as being presentable, customer focused when required, computer literate, and have good communication and people skills. This role reports to our Christchurch Branch Manager, and our senior mechanic in Christchurch. *Remuneration will be discussed during interview. *Accountability Critical Factors Safety To ensure compliance is valid and maintained for all workshop equipment. Work with the Branch Managers and Senior Mechanic to ensure high standards and safety checks are carried out on fleet as required. Maintain safe working practices. Work within industry and legislative codes, procedures, and practices. Carry out and ensure compliance of the fleet and operations to any statutory or local body regulations including but not limited to COF’s, and, vehicle registrations and regulations stipulated by the LTSA. Complete pre hire safety checks as required. *Fleet maintenance Carry out as much mechanical work in-house as possible. Identify and communicate any preventative work that could help reduce costs incurred on the road. *Servicing Communicate parts supply. Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects. Monitor brake pads and replace within set parameters. Test drive all Vehicles after work has been carried out to ensure safety. Check Brake hoses as required. Follow checklists and guidelines provided to ensure all parts and repairs are carried out to the highest level. *Coordinate any third party work required. Rotate and change tyres as required. Keep a record of all work in our online system, plus any other task that we may reasonably ask you to complete.
