Forklift Operator – Rotorua Forest Haulage
Rotorua Forest Haulage is on the lookout for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our supportive team at a local sawmill in Taupo. We operate a fleet of mobile plant machinery, including 12 to 14-tonne forklifts, and are proud to be part of New Zealand’s thriving forestry sector.
Your primary responsibility will be to:
* Load timber packets from the sawmill outfeed
* Transfer timber onto kiln trolleys for drying
* Ensure precision and care to minimise product damage
* Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as the quality of the timber must be preserved throughout the process.
What We’re Looking For: We ideally seek an experienced forklift operator, but we’re also open to training the right candidate who is mechanically minded and has experience operating heavy machinery.
Shift Pattern:
Tuesday to Friday - 7am to 3:30 pm
Saturday 10 to 12 hour day
Sunday, Monday days off
To be successful, you’ll need to:
* Be drug-free (pre-employment drug testing is mandatory)
* Hold or have previously held an OSH forklift certificate
* Have relevant experience (12-tonne forklift experience preferred but not essential)
* Be a reliable problem-solver who can work independently
* Understand the importance of your role in a production line
