




You won’t be bored here. One moment you’ll be operating plant, the next helping keep the yard or wharves tidy — there’s plenty of variety, and always something to get stuck into. Eastland Port is looking for a reliable and team-focused Loader & Plant Operator to support day-to-day operations across our Debarking and Port sites. If you enjoy operating mobile plant and working outdoors with a down-to-earth, supportive crew, you’ll feel right at home here. You’ll be hands-on across our debarker, log yard, and wharves — supporting safe, smooth, and productive operations. Your days may include shifting logs, supporting debarker processing, sweeping pavements and work areas, assisting with repairs, and stepping into different tasks to keep things flowing. And just to be clear — this isn’t stevedoring or crane work. We leave that to the experts at Qube. This role is all about plant, yard work, and helping keep our site in top shape. **What you’ll be doing** • Operating loaders, trucks, excavators, forklifts, container handlers and other mobile plant • Supporting debarker operations and ensuring product quality • Carrying out pavement sweeping, bark removal, and general yard upkeep • Completing daily checks, basic maintenance, and supporting plant repairs • Assisting with stormwater and asset maintenance • Working with your team to maintain workflow and keep things moving safely and efficiently • Reporting hazards and supporting a strong safety culture **What you’ll bring** • Experience operating loaders or other mobile plant • Experience in forestry, debarking, log yards, or similar operational environments is advantageous • Class 2 licence with WTR endorsement (and forklift licence is great to have) • A commitment to working safely and looking out for the team • Reliability, good communication, and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed • Flexibility to work across days, shifts, and weekends during busy periods • A practical mindset and the ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities **Why you’ll enjoy working with us** You’ll be joining a small, experienced, and supportive team who take pride in doing things properly.
