Focus on safety, compliance, and best practices within the business **Job Description** **About the role:** We are currently looking for a proactive Yard Operator to assist our wider team in managing the yard operations efficiently. Reporting to the Transport Supervisor, this role will be based at our logistics depot in Onehunga. If you have a great work ethic and want to be part of a strong connected team, it might be time to give your career the Alexander Advantage. - Inspect on-site pumps, manage calibration dates, and ensure forklifts/generators are fueled and serviced. - Ensure all trucks are correctly labelled and NZTA-compliant. - Safely handle all products and ensure zero cross contamination in tankers and ISOs. - Yard cleaning and maintenance in accordance with MPI standards. - Checking stock level and replenishing as required. - Ensure accurate paperwork is filed and available for inspection. - Ensure containers, buildings, and trucks are locked at the end of each day and any unknown visitors are directed to the Manager. - Work with the Safety and Compliance teams to create a mutually beneficial partnership to embed best practices within the business **For this role, you will:** - Have proven experience working in Yard operations preferably within a dangerous goods environment. - Forklift experience desirable - Be physically fit and willing to do manual work - Be flexible, adaptable, and have a strong work ethic **Pay + Benefits:** **What we offer**: - Competitive hourly rate paid weekly - Performance based bonuses - Fully paid medical insurance for yourself - Guaranteed hours of work - Training and upskilling opportunities **About the Company:** We’re Alexander Group, a well-established New Zealand family-owned specialist transportation and distribution solutions for hazardous and high value goods.
