Downer is currently engaged in large government projects, delivering concreting and formwork services for commercial and structural building works. Due to the nature of these projects, we need specialised Commercial Concreters. **The Opportunity** **|** **Te** **kōwhiringa** This is a specialised role that includes the following task and duties: * Helping with safe site setup for your crew and the general public * Assisting with installation of framework and prep work for concrete pour * Working as part of a cohesive team to deliver to projects * Ensuring efficient use of materials, supplies and equipment * Apply plans, working drawings, and specifications to concrete operations which is aimed at commercial/civil infrastructure context. Set out formwork, prepare reinforcement, and ensure accurate placement and alignment. * Utilises an in-depth understanding of different concrete mixes, slab designs (steel fibre, combi-slab, post-tension slabs), time critical elements of concrete, and different finishing and curing techniques ensuring correct technical procedures are followed. * Onsite placement, bending, cutting, and steel-tying of reinforcing for concrete slabs and structures and understanding of bar bending schedules (BBS). * Apply knowledge and experience with the application of high-strength grouts and kerbing mixes. * Set targets on a day-to-day basis in accordance with project plans and outcomes. * Knowledge and practical experience using K-forms * Experience with grout injection * Knowledge of specialist finishes (F1 to F6) and experience with formwork to achieve this level of finish * Experience with application of rugasol and exposed aggregate * Concrete saw-cutting and joint construction * Concrete spalling repairs **Important Skills | Nga pūkenga matua** You will be a team player with an organised and systematic approach to the working environment. **You will need:** * At least a Full Class 1 License * The ability to work hands-on as a team player * Good timekeeping skills - punctuality and reliability are key! * Projects are coordinate to work around public access and traffic management, you must be available to work on public holidays, weekends, and at night when required. **Minimum skills and experience required for the role:** * At least 3 years of relevant experience in concreting or structural building work OR a relevant trade qualification at level 4 or higher on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) will be beneficial but can be replaced by suitable work experience. **Our Organisation | Ko wai mātou** Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
