About the Role:
In this role, you will be involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of underground cable assets across the electricity network. You will work with high-voltage cable systems up to 220kV, including polymeric, paper and oil-insulated cables.Your work will support the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to communities while ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
-Installation, replacement and repair of underground power cables
-Jointing and terminating cable assets up to and including 220kV
-Assisting with cable installation, terminations and joints
-Carrying out oil cable works
-Operating equipment associated with high-voltage cable systems
-Identifying problems and implementing practical solutions onsite
-Working closely with team members, customers and stakeholders
-Maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and performance
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
-5+ years' post-qualification experience in cable jointing or electrical work
-Experience installing and jointing underground power cables
-A strong safety mindset
-The ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
-Strong communication and teamwork skills
-Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence
-NZ Electrical Registration (EWRB) – highly desirable
