Construction Labourer – Heritage & Commercial Projects (Auckland CBD)
We are seeking reliable and capable Construction Labourers to join a busy site team working on complex heritage and commercial construction projects in central Auckland. This role suits someone practical, safety-focused, and comfortable working in technically constrained environments.
The Role
You will support skilled trades and site management across a range of construction activities, including structural works, demolition, temporary works, and general site operations. The work is hands-on and varied, often within existing or heritage structures where care, accuracy, and methodical work are essential.
Key Responsibilities
• General site labouring, including lifting, carrying, and material handling
• Assisting carpenters, concrete workers, steel fixers, and other trades
• Demolition, strip-out, and site preparation works
• Installing and removing temporary works, protection, and safety barriers
• Operating basic tools and small plant (where competent)
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe worksite
• Following Site-Specific Safety Plans, RAMS, and toolbox instructions
• Identifying hazards and reporting issues to site management
• Supporting heritage-sensitive works with care and attention to detail
Skills & Experience
• Previous construction or labouring experience preferred but not essential
• Good physical fitness and willingness to work hands-on
• Strong understanding of health & safety on construction sites or willingness to lean
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
• Full NZ work rights required
Desirable (but not essential):
• Site Safe (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience on heritage, commercial, or refurbishment projects
• Basic tool competency

Site Coordinator – Construction
Reconstruct Ltd is seeking a Site Coordinator to support the delivery of a major heritage restoration and structural upgrade project in central Auckland. This is a hands-on role working closely with the site manager, subcontractors, and project consultants to ensure works are coordinated efficiently and safely.
The role will suit someone organised, practical, and comfortable working in an active construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate day-to-day site activities and subcontractor scheduling
• Assist with site logistics, deliveries, and material management
• Maintain site documentation including H&S records, inductions, and registers
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
• Support site manager with planning and programme coordination
• Monitor site housekeeping, access control, and general compliance
• Assist with quality assurance and photographic records of works
Requirements
• Construction or trade background preferred
• Strong organisational and communication skills
