




**Seeking an experienced Piling Foreman to lead small site teams and operate piling plant. The ideal candidate is mechanically capable and hands on, with proven experience operating excavators, cranes and piling rigs, holds relevant qualifications, and preferably holds a Class 4 driver licence. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and quality, effective crew management and excellent practical skills on site. Travel around the north island depending on projects.** **Key Responsibilities** * Lead and supervise a small site crew for piling operations. * Operate piling rigs, excavators and cranes as required on site. * Plan daily piling activities in coordination with site management and other trades. * Interpret piling drawings and specifications; ensure correct setout and installation methods. * Monitor and maintain plant, perform prestart checks and basic maintenance; report faults promptly. * Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety requirements. * Provide on the job training and mentoring. * Conduct site inspections and document progress, incidents and near misses as required. * Manage materials and consumables needed for piling operations. **Essential Qualifications & Experience** * Minimum 4+ years' practical experience in piling operations, including operating piling rigs. * Proven experience operating excavators, cranes and piling rigs. * Valid New Zealand driver licence (Class 1 minimum); WTR or Class 4 preferred, * Experience with crawler crane operations (US 27676) or mobile crane operations (US 3789) would be great. * Demonstrated experience managing an onsite team. **Core Skills & Attributes** * Strong practical operating skills across excavators, cranes and piling rigs. * Solid leadership and crew management skills; ability to communicate clearly and manage expectations on site. * Strong work ethic and positive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration. * Excellent focus on safety and quality; ability to create an environment that prioritises safe work practices. * Good problem solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure. * Competent in reading plans, setting out and basic measurement. * Reliable, punctual and able to work in varied weather and site conditions. **Desirable** * Relevant rigging and dogging certificates. * **Experience with pile driving and bored piling techniques.** * NZ Construction industry experience on civil or building foundation projects. **Notes** * Competitive pay reflective of experience and qualifications.
