We are looking for an organised and proactive Material Planner to join our Wildcatch team in Timaru. This is a fast-paced and varied role where no two days are the same. Working closely with Vessel Managers, suppliers, warehousing teams, and vessel crews, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our fleet has the materials, equipment, and supplies required to operate efficiently. This role is 25 – 30 hours per week, based across our Hall Street and Washdyke locations, so flexibility to work between both sites is required. About the Role Reporting to the Senior Material Planner, you'll be responsible for managing procurement processes and coordinating the supply of materials, goods, and services required to support our deep-water operations. This role requires someone who can think ahead, adapt quickly when priorities change, and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Responsibilities * Managing procurement systems and processes * Coordinating vessel provisioning requirements with Vessel Managers and suppliers * Monitoring supplier lead times and providing procurement forecasts * Raising, receipting, and managing purchase orders * Identifying and resolving invoice and payment discrepancies * Supporting inventory and warehousing activities * Receiving inward goods at our Laughton Street site on a rostered basis * Maintaining strong supplier relationships and service levels * Supporting procurement improvement initiatives * Ensuring all materials and goods meet required compliance and quality standards What you'll bring * Confidence working in a high-tempo environment where plans can change quickly * Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain administration, planning, or a similar role * Strong administrative and organisational skills * Advanced Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office capability * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy * The ability to prioritise competing demands and adapt to changing operational requirements * Strong communication and relationship-building skills * A proactive, solutions-focused approach * Confidence making decisions and taking ownership of your work * Experience working with purchasing systems, inventory management, accounts administration, or logistics coordination would be highly advantageous. You must be eligible to work in New Zealand. Our recruitment process includes criminal history checks, drug and alcohol testing, and a medical assessment.
