Supportive and professional team environment The Role As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the bar, overseeing beverage service, leading and training staff, and curating a drinks offering that complements our menu and atmosphere. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a premium hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all bar operations, including service standards, workflow, and presentation Lead, train, and motivate bar staff to deliver warm, professional service Manage stock control, ordering, supplier relationships, roasters and inventory costs Ensure compliance with NZ licensing laws, host responsibility, and health & safety requirements Collaborate with the kitchen and restaurant management team to ensure seamless service Handle customer feedback with professionalism and care Assist with rostering and staff performance management when required What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Bar Manager or Senior Bartender in a quality hospitality venue Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, and beverage trends Confident leadership skills with a positive, team-focused approach Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards Current LCQ and Manager’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Availability to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods What We Offer A leadership role in a well-regarded South and Mid canterbury group Competitive remuneration based on experience Supportive and professional team environment Opportunity to shape and develop the bar programmed If you’re passionate about great drinks, genuine hospitality, and leading a strong team, we’d love to hear from you.
