We are currently seeking an experienced Manager to oversee our Building Zone. This role involves working closely with experienced 2IC's and Team Leaders, managing Trade Drive-Thru, Power Tools, and Timber & Building Supplies. About the Role This is a Tuesday to Saturday full-time position (40 hours per week) and reporting directly to the Store Manager. This role will include one opening and one closing Duty Managers shift. Core Capabilities * Customer Service Excellence – Provide outstanding service while acting in the best interest of the company. * Industry Expertise – Knowledge of DIY, power tools, timber, and building supplies is a bonus - however we are mostly looking for strong leadership skills * Communication & Leadership – Ability to manage performance, motivate teams, and drive success. * Financial Acumen – Budget management and inventory control expertise. * Health & Safety Compliance – Understanding of workplace safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for staff and customers. * Valid Driver's License – Full New Zealand Class 1 driver's license (forklift license advantageous). This full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, involves directly reporting to Store Management and leading a dedicated team. What You Can Expect in This Role: * Leading, motivating, and growing a strong team culture that reflects our company values. * Ensuring compliance with all internal and external policies and procedures, including Health & Safety guidelines. * Supervising and coaching team members, building trust and respect within your team. * Ensuring the correct location of products to maintain accuracy within the business. * Communicating issues, discrepancies, or concerns to the leadership team with urgency. * Helping your team excel through coaching, training, performance management, recruitment, and workflow management. * Managing issues as they arise, escalating them as appropriate, and maintaining open communication channels. * Utilising internal systems for PGS (Perform, Grow, Succeed), completing 1:1 check-ins every six months, and setting goals for your team. * Working collaboratively within your team and across other departments. * Having knowledge of the products we sell across retail departments * Effectively planning, prioritizing, and managing tasks to ensure timely and high-quality completion of tasks and goals. What We Are Looking For: * Experience in fulfilment or merchandising within a Leadership role * Expertise in inventory management, time optimisation, and strategic planning. * Full driver's license is required * Forklift license preferred, as the role involves forklift work. * Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire your team. * Ability to perform heavy lifting as required. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week: Tuesday through to Saturday. The Trade Drive Thru is a very fast paced, rewarding environment! This Building Zone assists our customers with all their trade needs, from timber to plaster board to powertools and much more!
