Assist in repair and maintenance of machinery components Position Description * Grow your career * Permanent, Wellington based He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role: Due to internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a Motorman to join our team on a permanent basis. The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the repair and maintenance of machinery components in accordance with the Third Officer Engineer’s instructions. You will: * Inspect and report defects and damage to cargo spaces, hatch covers and ballast tanks * Check machinery and equipment is running properly as directed by watch keeping officers * Ensure the engine room is clean * Prevent, control and fight fires on board * Operate life-saving appliances and in an emergency carry out duties as assigned by the Third Officer Engineer Health and Safety is an important part of how KiwiRail operates. You will be a safety leader and will be expected to “walk the safety talk”.
