As an experienced HIAB Operator in our Auckland crane crew, you will be responsible for operating one of our truck-mounted cranes (HIAB) to load, unload and transport materials to construction sites and various locations throughout Auckland and the North Island. You will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of goods while adhering to safety regulations, traffic laws and company procedures. You will have proven experience manoeuvring the crane to lift, move, position and secure loads on to the truck ensuring proper weight distribution and stability. You have safety at the forefront of your mind, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols related to crane operations and load handling. Occasionally, your work may require overnight stays for long hauls. You will need to be self-motivated and autonomous in your work as you will often be out on jobs as the sole representative of Downer. Day to day you will: * Carry out activities in accordance with project plans and targets. * Make sure all plant and/or equipment under your control is presented, maintained, and operated in a professional, safe and efficient manner. * Advise the Operations Manager of any plant or equipment repairs and maintenance that may be required. * Complete hire dockets for each job you undertake ensuring job information and hours are recorded accurately. * Hold current and relevant NZQA qualifications related to HIAB operations, slinging, lifting and placing regular loads and demonstrated knowledge and skills for driving. * Hold a valid Class 5 license is preferred (however, we will still consider you if you hold a valid Class 4 license as training can be provided). * Proven experience in operating HIAB equipment. * Have a strong commitment to safety and understanding of safety protocols related to crane operations - taking your time and doing things right the first time, every time. * Ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections on HIAB equipment. * Comfortable using mobile devices for daily reporting through job management systems. * Be physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks. * Be BESS registered or be able to obtain this.
