Custom Built Off-Grid Camp Trailer
Description
I bought this as a builder’s trailer in 2023, gutted it, painted it, and converted it into a camping trailer for epic missions. I use it as a base camp for big days in the wild, so went overkill. It has 260L water tank, an automatic pump (in pump housing with accumulator & charcoal filter) & gas hot tap and recently saw 8 days off grid with many long showers before needing a top up. The 12v fridge runs 24/7 off the double deep cycle AGM battery bank. There’s an inverter that powers a small nespresso machine (not included) & toaster. A bunch of 240v outlets that can go either to the inverter, shore power or a separate battery bank. 12v / usb charging ports aplenty. The rooftop tent is a Feldon shelter extended crows nest. The tent is in “good” condition. A few spots but it’s been well cleaned. There’s an awning tent and floor , but I think it’s slightly too short. I’ve only used it a couple times & it was a handy spare room. There was once a marquee, but a massive gust in Arthur’s pass mangled it. I now use the walls from that to rig up shelter and prefer it. The trailer itself is mint. Wof & reg. Tandem axle braked. Just serviced before taking down south. Handled the trip well. I try not to load heavy stuff in the back racks. It felt a little sketchy towing it with a wrx when loaded back heavy - tows mint with my 4wd when well packed & full of water. Loads of extras, including 9L gas bottle with splitter and extension hose, quick pop up shower tent, grey water tank, tarps, poles for awnings, stereo, plastic drawer system screwed in. Shore power cord (with adapter for house plug). Built in table that folds up to secure the pantry. Wired in lighting. Of course, there’s the kitchen sink. Storage bins at front and on sides. Shelves on back. A saw horse rack on the front for bike / marquee / gear. Not included: kitchen and cooking stuff. Happy to give detailed instructions / walk through. Needs some love but ready to roll out for the next mission!
