- Play an active role in addressing the needs of our community. - Deliver best practice and high-quality support for whanau and individual - Be part of an amazing team providing holistic care **Mō te tūranga - About the role****:** The role of the qualified and registered Housing Social Worker position is to deliver a professional, empathetic, and effective service to people and families needing long term sustainable accommodation. - Show acceptance, inclusion and genuine interest in people and validate their story and aspirations. - To listen, relate and affirm people in such a way that they are encouraged to examine their issues and create solutions that lead to sustained independence (passing knowledge and power to a person so they can regain independence). - To refer clients to internal and external services, in line with their goals, to deliver positive outcomes. - Ensure the set outcomes are being achieved and reporting aligns with practice - Promptly record client interactions and case notes. - Connecting people to Salvation Army services (such as Community Ministries and Corps) that enhance their current circumstances and that meet individual needs. **Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako - What will your responsibilities be:** - Relationship Development and Engagement - Practice Frameworks and Reporting - Deliver Transitional Housing Programme - Committed to upholding and supporting The Salvation Army mission and Christian values. **Our ideal candidate will:** - Proven relevant Social Work experience of at least 2 years - Holds a recognised Social Work Degree Qualification or equivalent - Fully registered with the Social Work Registration Board - Clean full drivers license - Be legally entitled to work in New Zealand - Understand and relate to people from diverse backgrounds and who are experiencing hardship, trauma and/or mental unwellness - Have the ability and commitment to engage and journey with people providing support for personal responsibility and motivation to achieve own goals - Have the ability to adapt approach to the needs and interest of the audience. - A proactive solution focused approach using maturity and empathy in problem solving and reduction of barriers to achieving outcomes - Takes initiative in identifying professional development needs and training opportunities in consultation with line manager **Our offer to you:** - An additional week of TSA leave annually - Free confidential counselling services to support your wellbeing - Subsidised flu vaccinations - Discounted Medical Insurance with Southern Cross - TSA discount card for discount with various retailors such as Beaurepairs, Noel Leeming, Placemakers and Torpedo7 **Hour of work:** 37.5 hours, 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday **The starting salary** for this role will fall between **$68.000 and $122,000 per annum**. **This role is covered by the pay equity agreement and the final remuneration will be dependent on the years experience of the preferred candidate brings to the role.** The Salvation Army is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and believes workplaces thrive with diversity.
