Operator - Finishing Department
Our Client is a locally owned manufacturer supplying specialised screen media products to the quarrying and mining industries across New Zealand and Australia. The operation produces a wide range of screen media solutions, including wire mesh, rubber and polyurethane products, and modular screening systems.
We are currently seeking a reliable and hands-on team member to join their Finishing Department, assisting with the final stages of the manufacturing process.
Role Details
* Monday to Friday | 7:00am - 3:30pm
* Woolston-based location
* Immediate start available
* 90-day pay review, plus annual remuneration reviews
Key Responsibilities
Cutting
* Consolidating work orders and liaising with the customer service team
* Operating guillotines
* Using gas and plasma cutting equipment
* Measuring and cutting woven wire mesh
* Manual handling required, with most lifting crane-assisted
Folding
* Cutting and folding sheet metal bands for screen products
* Operating induction heating equipment and press brakes
* Folding V-hook and C-hook screen cloths
Fine Mesh
* Cutting and folding stainless steel mesh
* Operating hand-folding presses
* Managing mesh roll stock and completing monthly stocktakes
Additional Duties
* Delivering finished products to the warehouse for dispatch
* MIG welding and clenching screens
* Folding heavy wire using LPG gas equipment
* Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the factory floor
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience operating guillotines and press brakes
* Mechanically minded with a practical approach to work
* Forklift experience
* Gantry crane license preferred (training provided if required)
* MIG welding experience is advantageous
