We are looking for an experienced Bar Operations Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for the quarter-by-quarter operations of the hotel's bars and beverage service, as well as week to week service to ensure exceptional service, compliance with regulations, product inventory, beverage cost control, drink and service quality as well as, profitability. The Bar Operations Manager leads by example through operational expertise, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to create an outstanding experience for guests. This role has varying hours and split shifts that requires 100% hands on management approach where active involvement in the daily operations is expected. What will you be doing? * Lead, mentor, and motivate bar staff to deliver exceptional service. * Engaging with customers to assess their satisfaction with the service * In collaboration with the department leadership team, plan and schedule the team to deliver a positive guest experience * To recruit, induct and develop all team members, as well as manage performance issues. * Completing daily sales and management reports, identifying trends and opportunities * Making guest reservations, greet guests, and assist with taking orders as required * Maintaining stock of beverage items to ensure continuity of service What will you bring to the role? * A minimum of 24 month's experience in Beverage service is required. * Qualifications in Hospitality are desired, E.g. A Duty Managers Certificate or the ability to obtain one with our support * Experience in training new team members * Knowledge of restaurant and beverage trends, cocktails, and bar operations. * A strong desire to strive for excellence, with a high attention to detail * Ability to work with grace under pressure and stress The role and benefits: * Fulltime, permanent position, minimum 60 hours per fortnight. * Pay range is $31.00 - $34.00 depending on qualifications and experience. * Accommodation at reasonable rent including power, and Wi-Fi. * Free access to all activities offered by the Hermitage Hotel after first eight weeks service * Generous discounts on food and beverage, available from your first day on the job. * Discounted hotel accommodation for Friends and Family after eight weeks service. * Live in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park, with stunning surroundings and unparalleled views - a short and remarkable commute to work.
