




* Permanent, full-time role * Located at Spring Hill Corrections Facility * Contribute to reducing reoffending and improving public safety Mo te tunga | About the role Kaainga Taupua is a community residence facility located at Spring Hill Corrections Facility in Te Kauwhata. Housing up to 15 residents, this critical facility contributes directly to improved public safety, reduced reoffending and supporting reintegration for the most complex and high-risk people subject to community-based sentences and orders in the country. The facility is designed to assist individuals to develop important life skills within a supportive and supervised environment to successfully reintegrate into the community. The Resident Activity Coordinator contributes to the reintegration, rehabilitation and holistic wellbeing of residents. You will meet with residents weekly to plan and coordinate activities and outings that ultimately align with their reintegrative and rehabilitative goals and plans. Mou | About you You will utilise your expert organisational, communication and relationship skills for a diverse mix of individuals with complex needs. Other key elements we are looking for will include your: * Ability to build and maintain sound working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally including other agencies or contract holders * Accompanying residents on outings and activities in small groups or individually * Logical approach, with the ability to think on your feet * Confidence in managing difficult or complex behaviour * Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team * Clean Full NZ Drivers Licence Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience To be a high performer in this role, it will be beneficial if you have: * Effective communication skills * All-round MS Office knowledge and general computer skills * Calendar management skills and sound office administration experience * Some experience working with people with complex needs or in a related field could be beneficial e.g. Aged Care, Health, Drug Alcohol etc. (however this is not essential) Nga painga | The benefits The salary range for this position is $65,618 - $69,718 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
