We have been delivering New Zealand pork to Kiwis for over 40 years and are the country’s leading pork specialist. With over 150 staff operating from 4 sites, we are committed to the long-term sustainability of the NZ pig industry, through continual investment, innovative processing and products that provide fresh, high quality NZ pork products to New Zealanders and their animals. Our Timaru production facility is New Zealand’s largest pork specialist abattoir and butchery operation. Our dedicated team of over 65 staff process around 4,000 pigs per week. We are looking for a Meat Production Assistant to join our Boning Room team. The key part of this role is to support the Boning team with set up and workflow to ensure products are ready for distribution. This includes equipment set up, wrapping, strapping product, scanning, moving product to the chiller and keeping the room tidy. We keen to provide a development opportunity for someone who wants to be a Trainee Boner. To be successful in this role you will: • Be organised and flexible to respond to production requirements • Have effective and proactive communication skills • Be computer literate • Have a good understanding of Food safety requirements • Need physical stamina and strength due to the physicality of the job. • A forklift licence will be advantageous. The shift runs from 5:30am to 5:00pm (depending on production requirements), Monday to Friday. Finish times vary depending on production and processing times.
