Work on a wide variety of civil and infrastructure projects TTM Planner – Flexible Hours | Remote Friendly STILT Consultancy is a specialist traffic management consultancy supporting civil contractors, developers, and councils across Canterbury and the wider South Island. We’re growing steadily and need an experienced TTM Planner to support workload, without the corporate fluff. This role is ideal for an experienced planner who wants true flexibility, autonomy, and interesting work, while being able to balance family and general life commitments. About the Role You’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality Traffic Management Plans for a wide range of civil construction and infrastructure projects, from residential developments through to complex corridor and live network works. This role offers genuine flexible working hours. As long as workloads are managed and deadlines are met, hours can be structured to work around family commitments and general life responsibilities. Workload is flexible and can be scaled up or down depending on availability. Most work can be completed remotely, with occasional site visits where required. What You’ll Be Doing: - Preparing compliant TMPs in accordance with NZGTTM, NZTA, and local authority requirements - Developing clear, practical traffic staging and pedestrian management solutions - Managing workload and deadlines independently - Liaising with clients, contractors, and approving authorities when required - Reviewing site constraints and tailoring plans to real-world conditions - Supporting risk-based planning and safe work methodologies - Undertaking site audits and observations to review TTM performance and capture learnings from live sites, supporting continuous improvement and better future planning Ideally you’ll have: - Proven experience preparing Traffic Management Plans in New Zealand - Strong working knowledge of NZGTTM - Ability to work independently and manage your own time and workload - A practical, safety-first mindset (plans that actually work onsite) - Experience using RapidPlan, MyWorksites, Submitica or similar software TTMP qualification advantageous, but not essential Why STILT Consultancy? - Flexible working hours – work around school drop-offs, family commitments, and life outside work - Remote-first role - Competitive hourly rate based on experience - Consistent workflow without full-time pressure - Work on a wide variety of civil and infrastructure projects - No micromanagement — we trust professionals to do professional work - A consultancy run by people who genuinely understand traffic management If you’re an experienced TTM Planner looking for flexible, well-paid work that fits around your life, we’d love to hear from you.
