




Machinist + CNC x2 machinists for busy workshop in Kawerau CNC and Manual Machinists required to join a high-performing, safety-first team in a precision-engineering environment? Our client in the Eastern Bay of Plenty is seeking a skilled Tradesperson – Machinist to support the delivery of high-quality, custom-engineered components across multiple industries. Your role * Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and job specifications. * Safely operating CNC mills, CNC lathes (horizontal & vertical), manual lathes, horizontal borers, and other machine tools. * Programming CNC machines using Mastercam or on-machine controls. * Setting up jobs, selecting tooling, and planning machining sequences. * Fitting fabricated metal parts to plant requirements. * Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems. * Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance on plant equipment. * Installation of new plant and machinery equipment. * Operating gantry cranes (up to 50 tonnes) and forklifts safely and competently. * Maintaining a clean, organised, and hazard-free workspace. Skills & Experience: * Trade qualification as a Fitter / Turner / Machinist or equivalent practical experience. * Proven experience in CNC and manual machining in a heavy engineering or jobbing environment. * Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and using precision measuring tools. * Experience with a wide range of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, tool steel, nonferrous metals and plastics. * Familiarity with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens or Fagor CNC controls. * Experience with crane and forklift operation (preferred). * Commitment to safety protocols, risk assessments, and workshop conduct.
