Armadillo Civil Limited is a respected and growing civil engineering company delivering top-quality infrastructure projects across the Bay of Plenty. We’re currently on the lookout for a skilled and experienced machine operator who can turn their hand to multiple tasks. Due to several exciting new contracts, we’re expanding our team and need a multi skilled plant operator who brings strong machinery knowledge, practical experience, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work. Key Responsibilities • Operate excavators, loaders and other plant for trenching, backfilling, and general civil works • Complete daily pre-start checks, greasing, and care of machinery • Assist with general labouring duties - digging, laying pipe, backfilling trenches, clean-up, etc • Work in and around live services and trench shield • Follow plans and daily instructions from supervisor • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment What We’re Looking For • Minimum 2 years’ experience operating plant or machinery on civil site • Full New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 2+4 preferred) • W, T, R endorsements • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team • Health & Safety focused • Willing and able to jump in the trenches alongside the rest of the team • Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to think for yourself • Be reliable, honest and a flexible team player • Accurate daily record-keeping • Able to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing What We Offer • A key role within a supportive and respected team environment • Competitive remuneration, based on your experience • A positive work culture that values your input, ideas, and high standards of workmanship At Armadillo Civil, we’re more than just contractors — we’re a crew of genuine good guys and girls, who take pride in what we do.
