Opportunities to contribute to business growth and success We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager / Qualified Mechanic to lead our busy workshop operations in both Christchurch and Auckland. This is a hands-on role that combines workshop leadership, staff management, and mechanical work to ensure our fleet remains safe, reliable, and ready for customers. About the Role As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the workshop while also carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance as required. You will lead a team of technicians, manage workflow, source parts, and ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and available when needed for bookings. Key Responsibilities • Manage the daily operations of the workshop. • Supervise, support, and coordinate workshop staff. • Schedule and prioritise repairs, servicing, and maintenance work. • Source and procure parts, consumables, and workshop supplies. • Ensure vehicles are repaired and serviced in a timely manner. • Monitor fleet availability and ensure vehicles are ready for upcoming bookings. • Carry out diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and mechanical work as required. • Maintain accurate maintenance records and job documentation. • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. • Assist with continuous improvement of workshop processes and standards. • From time to time travel to our Auckland depot will also be required. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: • A recognised automotive mechanical qualification. • Proven experience as a qualified mechanic. • Previous experience leading or supervising a workshop team. • Strong organisational and time-management skills. • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities. • Good computer skills and confidence using workshop management software, email, and Microsoft Office applications. • Strong communication and leadership skills. • A commitment to quality workmanship and customer service. • A full New Zealand driver's licence. Additional Requirements • Availability to work during the Christmas and New Year period, which is one of our busiest times of the year. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Flexibility to assist with operational requirements as needed.
