Summary: This role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment in a metal recycling facility, including material handlers and a shredder, offering a good level of variety. Highlights: 1. Responsible for operating material handlers and a shredding mill Metalcorp NZ Ltd is a family-owned metal recycling facility with two South Island branches. This role will be based in our busy Hornby yard. We are seeking an experienced operator (or someone with little experience who is looking for an opportunity to further train) who would like to grow their skill set by learning to operate a range of heavy equipment used in metal recycling including: * Excavators fitted with large shearing attachments * Material handlers * 16 Hammer Mill (Shredder) * Loaders * Vertical Shears * Container Forklifts The role will provide a good level of variety as you will be responsible for working across a couple of core operating roles. This will include the operation of a material handler (as pictured) to load and unload customers and shipping containers and to eventually supply feed to the automotive shredding mill, as well as operating the shredder itself. The position is full time, 44.5 hours per week with rotational Saturday morning work (on a roster basis, approximately every 3 weeks). Wage rate will depend on skills and experience.
