About Us:
Our Company specializes in the transport of milk sample products that require laboratory testing. Product pickups are collected from a number of dairy sites beyond Christchurch for delivery into Chch Airport and other destinations. We operate 7 days per week, 365 days per year. We are looking for staff (to replace several loyal staff who deservedly are now retiring) to join our dedicated team as a casual employee. Regular scheduled work is available. We have three main Runs…….
Run A – Leaves Chch approximately 2.30am, duration approximately 6 hours.
Run B – Leaves Chch approximately 4.15am, duration approximately 3 ¼ hours.
Run C – Leaves Chch approximately 8.00am (10am Sundays), duration approximately 5 hours.
The focus of this position is to predominantly provide cover for Run B and provide relief cover (for our main driver) for Runs A and C. Eventually the successful applicant with be trained in all three runs. All runs leave from base which is in Harewood, close to the Chch Airport. Our vehicles are vans and only require a car licence to drive. We operate a 2-4 week in advance drivers schedule for our casual employees. It is very rare for us to call you on the day to check your availability, that would only be in the event of an emergency. The preferred successful applicant/s would be someone who had the flexibility to be scheduled across all three of our runs.
Ideal Applicant:
• A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence
• A confident and competent driving history.
• Be physically fit and able to routinely lift items up to 20 kg’s.
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently
• Good communication skills
• Attention to detail when handling samples and documentation
• A professional and friendly manner
• Be flexible to work across all three Runs on intermittent days including some weekends and statutory days when scheduled.
• Comfortable with very early morning starts. Previous shift work or early morning work experience would be an advantage.
• Drug Testing and Police checks will also be required
