Summary: Waipuna Youth Services seeks a passionate Senior Project Worker to lead the Youth Voices on Alcohol Harm initiative, empowering youth to address alcohol's impact in communities. Strengthen community capacity and amplify youth voices Senior Project Worker – Youth Voices on Alcohol Harm Fixed-term 32 hours per week until February 2027 Waipuna Youth Services is looking for a passionate Senior Project Worker to lead the Youth Voices on Alcohol Harm initiative. This project empowers rangatahi and communities to identify, document, and communicate the real impacts of alcohol in their neighbourhoods, influencing local licensing decisions and reducing alcohol-related harm. About the role You will: • Facilitate workshops, hui, and youth-led activities to gather evidence of alcohol-related harm • Support rangatahi and whānau to articulate their experiences to schools, community groups, and statutory agencies • Refine and deploy a community evidence-gathering tool for alcohol licence renewals • Build collaborative partnerships with schools, NGOs, and agencies (Health, Police, Council) and work with them in the alcohol harm space. • Collate evidence and produce summaries that inform licensing hearings The project focuses on high-risk Christchurch communities such as Linwood, Aranui, and Wainoni, where alcohol outlet density and social disadvantage increase harm.
