Team Leader - Tenancy Management Rotorua

Our kaimahi all have a common goal - helping people realise their potential with the aim of supporting people to live their best life as independently as possible. **He korero mo te turanga | The Role** As a Team Leader within our Housing Services team, you will play a vital role in achieving the best possible outcomes for individuals and whanau accessing tenancy services. You will lead a team of Tenancy Managers, supporting them to deliver high-quality, compassionate tenancy management and helping tenants transition into sustainable long-term housing. You'll collaborate with other Team Leaders to plan, coordinate, and deliver services that are people-focused and outcome-driven. Your leadership will help ensure that tenants receive seamless, respectful support throughout their housing journey. Duties of the role include, but are not limited to: * Holistic Tenancy Management: Oversee the management of your team's tenancy portfolios from start to finish. This includes everything from referrals and entry processes through to ongoing tenancy management and transition or exit procedures. You will work with your team ensure a smooth and positive experience for tenants throughout their journey. * Guidance: Provide clear direction and set achievable team and individual goals. Offer practical advice on handling difficult situations, navigating challenging tenancies, and upholding best practices. * Coaching: Utilize your frontline knowledge to provide individualized coaching and feedback to your team members. This could involve on-site shadowing, role-playing exercises, and focused discussions to help them improve specific skills or overcome challenges. * Training and Development: Coordinate training programs and professional development opportunities for your team of Tenancy Managers. This ensures they have the skills and knowledge to effectively manage tenancies. * Inspiration: Draw on your own frontline experience to share real-life stories and challenges you've faced. Creating a sense of connection and helps your team see the bigger picture of their role. * Encouragement: Recognize and celebrate your team's achievements. Share positive feedback from tenants or colleagues and highlight individual and team successes. Your frontline perspective allows you to understand the daily grind and celebrate even small victories that keep the team motivated. * Policy and Process Improvement: Lead efforts to continuously improve tenancy management policies, processes, and practices within the organization. This involves identifying areas for improvement, developing solutions, and implementing changes. This is a permanent full-time role (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday.
