With a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for quality, we’re looking for an experienced GPS Excavator Operator to join our crew. This role is centered around operating a Hitachi ZX135-7 equipped with Unicontrol 3D GPS, completing everything from bulk earthworks, drainage trenching through to precise final trim. What You’ll Be Doing: • Operating a Hitachi ZX135 7 with Unicontrol 3D GPS for bulk earthworks, shaping, and final trim • Working across residential, commercial, and subdivision/land development projects • Reading and interpreting paper / digital plans and GPS models • Maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient work area • Working closely with site leadership to deliver high quality results • Representing our company’s values of professionalism, reliability, and workmanship Requirements: • Minimum 5 years’ experience operating excavators in civil construction • Proven ability using GPS/3D machine control systems (Unicontrol experience ideal but not essential) • Strong competency in both bulk earthworks and final trim • Ability to work confidently in tight, detailed environments • Solid understanding of civil construction processes, levels, and site setups • Full NZ driver’s license (W, T, R endorsements preferred) • Reliable, punctual, and able to work unsupervised • Commitment to health, safety, and quality at all times • A real team player who’s happy to jump out and help the crew on the ground when needed • Ability to pass pre employment checks (drug/alcohol, reference checks) What We Offer: • A stable role in a well run, locally owned company • Modern machinery and technology (Hitachi ZX135 7 + Unicontrol 3D) • Competitive pay based on experience • Supportive team culture where your skills are valued • Consistent, varied work across the Waikato / BOP regions If you take pride in your work, enjoy operating quality gear, and want to be part of a company that values its people, we’d love to hear from you.
